Solver results
The Wordle Solver uses the colored tiles from your game to find every answer that fits your clues and settings. It also ranks possible next guesses by how many remaining answers each one should rule out.
Enter each completed guess as it appears on your board. Type the word, then tap the tiles until the colors match.
Don’t want to type the board? Select Use game screenshot, then check the scanned tiles before you search.
To enter green, yellow, and gray letters separately, select Use classic search. Classic input is less exact because it cannot remember where each yellow letter appeared.
Select Search to see two sections:
- Remaining answers
- Useful guesses, maybe
Select Search without help if you want the remaining answers without guess suggestions. By default, the score beside each suggested guess is the percentage of remaining answers it would eliminate on average.
Say you guessed CRANE. R and E came back yellow. C, A, and N came back gray.
Enter CRANE and tap the tiles until the row matches your board. Then select Search.
The Solver reads all five tiles together. It keeps words with R and E in other positions and rules out anything with C, A, or N. What’s left appears under Remaining answers.
Repeated letters are where gray tiles get tricky. If one E in SPEED comes back yellow and the other comes back gray, the answer has one E, not zero.
If you enter the full row, the Solver reads both tiles together. In classic input, add E to Yellow letters and leave it out of Gray letters.
Sometimes the most useful next guess is a word you already know cannot be the answer.
Say every answer left ends in _IGHT. Guessing one of them tests a single first letter. FLAME cannot be the answer, but it checks F, L, M, and E in one turn.

FLAME tests four possible first letters.
If one of those four letters lights up, you’ve found the first letter. If all four are gray, four answers are gone.
Remaining answers could solve the game now. A word under Useful guesses, maybe cannot solve it, but it may tell you more first.
The score measures how much of the remaining list a guess would eliminate on average. It’s shown as a percentage by default. A higher score should narrow the list further. It does not mean the word is more likely to be the answer.
If you're thinking, huh? That's okay! It's a little complicated.
The Solver tests a guess against every answer left in your search. It gives each answer equal weight. Answers that would return the same pattern of green, yellow, and gray tiles are grouped together.
Say we want to test ADIEU against the full answer list. If ADIOS were the answer, the colors would leave just one possibility. If BLOCK were the answer, all five tiles would be gray—and lots of answers would look the same. The Solver runs through every answer and averages how much the guess would eliminate.
Wordle has one list of words that can be daily answers and a larger list of words it accepts as guesses. The Solver uses both.
The Remaining answers section contains only words that fit every clue. The Useful guesses, maybe section draws from the larger list. Some words have been ruled out by your clues. Others are accepted guesses that are not possible daily answers. Wordle will still accept them and color their tiles, so they can help separate the answers that remain.
Past answers stay in the list unless you turn on Filter out past answers under Advanced Options. Wordle has repeated answers before. Filtering them can shorten the list, but it can also hide the answer.

Wordle is a daily word game where you get six tries to guess the day’s five-letter answer. Start with any five-letter word the game accepts. After each guess, the tiles change color:
- Green means the right letter is in the right position.
- Yellow means the letter is in the answer, but in a different position.
- Gray usually means the letter is not in the answer.
Use those colors to make your next guess. You win when all five tiles turn green.
